Presentation on (Progress) to the Board at the end of the first half in 2023

In the morning of August 15, 2023, at Kork Pring High School and Svay Prohot Primary School (New Generation School Program), a meeting was held on some work related to the operation of New Generation School Program (Progress Report) under the chairmanship of Mrs. Hem Ratana, Deputy Director Education, Youth and Sports and Vice Chairman of the New Generation School Board.

In addition, the President presented to the members of the meeting that the new generation of schools, we require teaching and learning technology, and this school must be evaluated once a year to get a license, and the President requested you. Teachers as well as all leaders to continue to work hard and especially the Chairman of the meeting requested the school to update the Board (some changes) Finally, the President requested the Commune Council to continue to help. To other schools, especially to help build schools in the target communes.

After that, Mr. Kong Narin also made a brief report on the activities that have been carried out as follows:

1.  General Situation: A total of 41 teachers, 13 females, 21 senior teachers, 7 females and 19 basic level teachers, 6 females, and 95% completed their bachelor’s degree. At the end of the year, we have 4 transfer teachers in 2 provinces and Out of province 2 people. And a total of 508 students, 268 females (188 high school students, 94 females, 320 primary school students, 174 females). And teaching and learning focuses on five points: (21st Century, constructive, experimental, using technology, etc. and learning to bring students to read in the library and Stem program education.

 

2. Strengthening the quality of education.

A. The study club runs from March 2023 onwards (in science and society) with a budget of about 10,040,000 Riels and other programs (advocacy reading competition …)

B. Teacher Assistance Service: There is PLC time and there is teacher training of pedagogical advisors.

Our high school will be ready to exhibit student work on September 7, 2023, with 12 clubs, about 75 booths to show parents, students, as well as the community (ASEAN Club, Biochemistry, British Citizens…).

Budget for 2024, New Year, one student pays R 340,000 (R 163,200,000 R), Ministry supports  396,911,000 R, SOF 23,744,700 R.

  1. Challenges:

– Lack of math teacher, earth, English, Khmer, sports

– Lack of meeting rooms and school buildings

Most 11th and 12th grade students choose social studies

– Computer is broken

Increase the salary of activities for teachers at Kork Pring High School with additional support of R20,000 / person, technical team leader R80,000 / person and computer operator R100,000 / 1 month in addition to the original activity bonus, private teacher R1,000,000 / month (for Ch.1) and the second semester

12. Request

Request to the special committee of the Provincial Department of IE to continue to supply electricity, discuss further budget.

After that, the meeting discussed to find solutions related to the challenges that each school needs (lack of teachers, lack of classrooms…).
